Confirm the person and stay
Agree the actual address, arrival date and residents with the landlord or authorised representative. Official guidance requires the relevant house-master, owner, possessor or hotel manager to notify local immigration within twenty-four hours of a qualifying foreign resident’s arrival. Do not leave the question until another immigration appointment.
Provide the required information
Follow the responsible office and submission channel’s requirements for passport identity, arrival information and the address. Check each occupant separately and match names to their documents. Ask which pages or details are needed. Do not automatically send an entire passport or unrelated banking and family information. Use an agreed communication channel.
Correct changes promptly
Ask the reporting person to check inaccurate names, dates or unit information rather than altering a receipt yourself. For a return to the same address or a special residence situation, confirm whether a new notification is required with the responsible immigration office. After supplying information, request the appropriate receipt. Sending a lease or documents is not proof of a completed notification.
After supplying the information, read Obtain Your Residence Notification Receipt.
