Confirm that the bathroom is ready
Ask the site representative whether the water supply and drains are ready for use and obvious construction debris has been removed. Do not release water into an unprepared room or dismantle equipment yourself. Operate installed fittings normally, checking one location at a time.
Observe the water's route
Watch the basin empty and see whether shower water moves towards the drain. Look for noticeable water remaining in one area after ordinary use. Check accessible cupboards, connections and adjacent flooring for visible water. Residual droplets and persistent pooling are different observations; record what happens without diagnosing the cause.
Make the finding repeatable
Identify the bathroom, fitting, test sequence and observed result. A short video showing water use and discharge can explain more than a photograph of a wet floor. “Water remains beside the shower doorway after use” is clearer than “bad drainage”. Do not invent a universal drain-down time.
Repeat the same check after repairs
Request the developer's repair arrangements and test the same location under normal use afterwards. Drying the surface or adding sealant alone does not demonstrate that the original drainage issue has been resolved. Recurring pooling, suspected hidden leakage or unexplained odour deserves professional assessment. Your basic inspection should produce a clear record that can be checked again.
