Compare the original position
Find the contractual delivery provision, applicable extension conditions and notices already issued. Distinguish a sales estimate from the actual contractual obligation.
Ask specific questions
Request the work still outstanding, expected completion and proposed inspection and handover dates. If no firm date is available, ask for the next update and the present obstacle. Identify your unit and agreement: “Please provide the current written handover programme for this unit and explain the remaining work.”
Use the answer carefully
Coordinate temporary housing, bank disbursement and moving after reviewing the reply. Receiving a new estimate does not automatically mean you agreed to amend the contract. Read any proposed variation separately. Keep notices and responses. Consider any cancellation basis in a separate step rather than combining a progress query with a broad waiver of existing rights.
If considering cancellation after the update, read Request Cancellation After a Delayed Home Handover.
