The character of the area
Mae Rim runs from the flat farmland near the Ping River up into the Mae Sa valley, home to Mae Sa Waterfall in Doi Suthep-Pui National Park, the Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden, elephant sanctuaries and hillside resorts. The higher ground is noticeably cooler and greener than the city.
Daily life and amenities
Several well-known international schools sit in and around Mae Rim, making it a family favourite. Everyday shopping, markets and clinics line the main road north, with full malls and hospitals in the city about 15–20 minutes south. Weekends here mean waterfalls, cafés with valley views and national-park trails on the doorstep.
